Community
At Red Barn, we have a “flexible cooperative” model where parents have the choice to be critical players in the function of our school.
Parent Leadership
The School’s Board:
Made up of elected parents who work alongside the director to make significant decisions about the school including programs offered, tuition rates, fundraising events, the annual budget, and more.
Parent Volunteers
Parent Volunteer Roles:
Room parent, social/fundraising committee members, social media coordinator
Parent Volunteer As Needed:
Help with minor building maintenance and upkeep, technology, classroom assistance, outdoor learning helper
Our community is integral to the fabric of what makes Red Barn unique. As a small school, we are able to form deep connections between and among families and teachers.
Family Involvement
Family members have various opportunities to participate in class throughout the year. Weekly “mystery readers” bring a favorite read-aloud book to share with the class, and parent helpers play a vital role on nature walks during warmer months.
Social Events
We organize several social events throughout the school year, both for families and parents. Parents also come together as a community for bi-annual fundraisers.
